Well the death of Osama bin Laden has pretty much exposed the weakness and hypocrisy of the al-Qaeda movement.

Firstly in bin Laden’s compound they found an extensive stash of pornography, electronically recorded. Pornography is forbidden (haram) under Islam because it exposes a person’s forbidden zones (awrah) publicly. But apparently it is normal to find porn when an al-Qaeda safe house or hideout is raided and Western intelligence forces routinely evaluate the finds as part of their analysis of the terrorists.

Secondly al-Qaeda are now taking revenge for the death of Osama bin Laden. And how are they taking that revenge? By killing Muslims! They are committing terrorist attacks within Pakistan against their own people. But this is no surprise, of the eleven million Muslims violently killed since 1948 90% were killed by fellow Muslims and only 0.3% were killed by the Israelis! The Qur’an contains at least 109 verses that call on Muslims to make war with infidels but it doesn’t tell them to kill fellow Muslims. The Qur’an also promotes moral virtues including justice, compassion, modesty, temperance, perseverance, submission to God, and avoidance of worthless talk. Obviously al-Qaeda don’t read those bits.

The real world facts, as we have seen in the Arab Spring, is that Osama bin Laden and his beliefs are a total irrelevancy to nearly all Muslims. In fact more Muslims in the world are vehemently anti al-Quaeda than the small number of nutters who are for it. Because Muslims are human beings just like you and me and like all decent people they abhor what al-Quaeda has done.
