By now we are used to see him on the TV news as a fixture of this Arab Spring. Telling lies and trying to justify the despicable Gaddafi regime, he is Libyan Minister of Information, a similar job position to that held by Joseph Goebbels in Nazi Germany. Like Goebbels he is very well educated, but Moussa Ibrahim’s PhD is waiting further work before it is awarded by Royal Holloway, University of London, so he is not really the doctor he is sometimes credited with being. Whereas Goebbels actually got his PhD, from Heidelberg University.

Another comparison is with the hapless Comical Ali of Saddam Hussein’s brutal regime. His real name is Mohammed Saeed al-Sahhaf and he too was Minister of Information, likewise he is well educated with a Masters degree in English literature. And just like Moussa Ibrahim he stood in front of the world’s press spouting lies that were so ridiculous that they would have been amusing had people not been slaughtered by the regime he spoke for.
