Ed Balls is having a torrid time at the moment, his ridiculous economic ideas had cold water poured on them by the IMF, highly incriminating papers got into the hands of the press and now the coalition Plan A economic policy can be seen to be working. The private sector is employing people faster than the public sector is getting rid of them. In fact we are seeing the fastest drop in jobless figures in a decade, with a reduction of 88,000 in the three months to April. Not what Ed Balls wants to hear.
As this clearout of the public sector is being so successful why not continue it? Obviously the less they employ wasting our money the better and the more that are employed in the private sector generating wealth the better. Let’s get to the point where we find out how few people we can run essential public services with.
