This article is your complete education about the Islamic state. It is a lot different to what your government and press are telling you. Yes, they are primitive barbarians with no respect for human rights, but then so are our best friends the Saudi Arabians. Yes they are violently stealing the land, to make their country, from other people, but then so did the United States of America and Israel. Yes, they kill Western hostages (first was James Wright Foley, 19Â August 2014), but only after we started killing Islamic State people in air strikes (bombing started 8 August 2014).
Our politicians have made it illegal to sympathise with IS, to help them or to join them. Yet lots of British young men join the barbaric terrorist organisation called the Israeli Defence Force. And lots went to fight in Spain during their civil war, on the side of the lefties. And remember that socialism has done more harm to Great Britain than Islam has. So we have a huge amount of hypocrisy and double standards going on.
So here are the main articles about The Islamic State (ISIS, ISIL):
The Taliban Freedom Fighters. This earlier article sets the tone. What right do we have to invade other people’s countries? And why do we call freedom fighters terrorists?
What is ISIS. Most people don’t know. Even TV and newspaper journalists. Read this and you will be able to put everything in context.
ISIS are very misunderstood. This is the understatement of the year. Here are lots of facts that our politicians and journalists either are ignorant of or conveniently ignore.
Military action against the Islamic State. Understanding what we are doing and how stupid it is.
Kobane explained. Here the idiocy of Sykes Picot is explained.
Terrorism, a word that is massively misused and abused. See how the mainstream media lie continually to you. Find out who are the real terrorists in our world.
Islamic State formed in exactly the same way as the United States was. This is an incontrovertible truth. And exposes the gross hypocrisy of the West.
Islamic State and Saudi Arabia are the same. If anything the Saudis are worse. They both enforce a barbaric and theologically flawed version of Islam on their populace. Yet members of the Saudi royal family like their alcohol, drugs and prostitutes.
Lots of knowledge there. But things could get a lot worse. The Saudis are trying to recruit Turkey and others to form a Sunni coalition against Iran. Whilst Netanyahu is trying to recruit the USA to actually attack Iran. All this because Iran has a nuclear programme.
The hypocrisy here knows no bounds. Saudi Arabia is far more uncivilised than Iran and has nuclear weapons, made for it by Pakistan, that are kept warehoused there. Israel has lots of nuclear weapons, it is also very aggressive, having invaded and stole land from ALL its neighbours. Meanwhile Iran has been peaceful (except for when attacked) for well over 200 years (since 1795) and has not started a war with anyone in that time.
And remember that Putin is big friends with Iran and would not take very kindly at all to any action against them. We live in dangerous times and Western politicians are one of the main causes. We started virtually all the current Middle East problems when Bush and Blair illegally invaded Iraq, with no valid reason whatsoever. Possibly a million innocent people have now died as a result of their crass stupidity.
So what should we do?
- Don’t bomb, attack or put boots on the ground against anyone in the whole Middle East. Create a level playing field and let them get on with it.
- Stop supporting the vile regimes in Israel, Â Saudi Arabia and Bahrain.
- Talk to the Iranians, properly. Remove all sanctions immediately.
- Talk to ISIS, properly.
- Don’t try and maintain the Sykes Picot lines or states. Let reality on the ground take over. Iraq would probably break into three states, as would Syria. Let them.
- Don’t punish our own citizens for thought crimes or for going away to fight in what they believe. George Orwell went and fought in the Spanish Civil War. He would be horrified to see his predictions from the book 1984 being applied in Britain today.

Unbelievable. You sad apologist.

Dino,
See how you are a complete failure on the pyramid of intellect:
You say that the IDF is a “Barbaric Terrorist Organisation”. On what rational basis do you make that claim?
Stephen,
See the IDF at work in these videos to know how barbaric and amoral they are: http://www.bruceonpolitics.com/2014/10/26/israels-moral-army-work/
Then read this to understand what terrorism is: http://www.bruceonpolitics.com/2014/11/20/terrorism-word-massively-misused-abused/

Bruce. There are no videos on that link only more irrational statements. I understand fully the misuse of the word “terrorist” and “terrorism” and thus question your application of it to the IDF. You really must get out more – maybe get a girlfriend, take up a hobby?

Stephen,
Your resort to ad hominem makes you unworthy of an answer.
There are plenty of videos here: http://www.bruceonpolitics.com/2014/10/26/israels-moral-army-work/
Maybe you are behind a firewall that censors what you are allowed to see.
Thus distorting your knowledge of the world. Or maybe you are having problems using your computer.
You are in central London so should be able to access the net properly.
Bruce,
You confuse ‘ad hominem’ with ‘patronising’.
I repeat, there are no videos that support your wild and unfounded accusations despite the UNHCR spending the last 60 years or so trying to do exactly that.
Stephen, you obviously don’t know how to work your computer.
Here they are: http://www.bruceonpolitics.com/2014/10/26/israels-moral-army-work/

Also, you say that Israel has “Invaded and stolen land” from “All its neighbours”. Please check your facts, particularly in regards to Egypt, Jordan and Lebanon. You really must do better!
Stephen,
Israel has stolen land from all three of those.
I suggest you improve your Google skills.
When? I suggest you read some history books. I tend to rely on them more than Google, which is perhaps part of your problem?

Israel stole the Golan heights from Syria.
The area south of the Litani River from Lebanon.
The whole West Bank from Jordan.
And the Gaza Strip from Egypt.
You need to buy better books.
Bruce,
1) The Golan heights have been used for years by Syria to fire rockets into Israel and I would expect that if the Scots were using Edinburgh to do the same to Berwick that we would act similarly.
2) The area south of Litani river is still part of Lebanon unless you know something I don’t? In 1982 the Israelis launched their first Lebanon war in order to secure peace for the Labanese christians and for themselves against the constant shelling from the PLO. Read a first hand account from a Lebanese Christian who lived through this in ‘Because They Hate’ by Brigitte Gabriel.
3) It was Jordan that, contrary to UN directions at that time, chose to invade Judea and Samaria in 1948 and held that land illegally for 19 years until the six day war of 1967 when Israel made, in my opinion, a strategic error in not expelling the vanquished Arabs back across the Jordan river.
4) Ditto above for Gaza except substitute Egypt for Jordan. Thank goodness SiSi has now taken back their land from the Muslim Brothehood and has started to reduce the Hamas effect in Gaza. Frankly, I think it would be a good idea for Egypt to take control of Gaza from the PA and I’m sure that Israel would agree!
Books that might be helpful for you to get an understanding of the situation include:
1) What Went Wrong – Bernard Lewis.
2) The Case For Israel – Alan Dershowitz
3) Israel – Martin Gilbert
4) A Peace to End all Peace – David Fromkin
5) Fabricating Israeli History – Efraim Karsh
6) The Fight for Jerusalem – Dore Gold
7) Six Days of War – Michael B. Oren
8) Oh Jerusalem – Larry Collins and Dominique Lapierre
Let me know when you’ve read these and I’ll recommend more.

Stephen,
You have a strange view to justify Israeli theft of other country’s land.

The Archbishop of Canterbury made a pronouncement last year which was somewhat unusual in modern Anglican geo-political quibbling and hedging. The statement is still on the Lambeth Palace website, and it makes plain that Justin Welby “fully accepts that Israel has the same legitimate rights to peace and security as any other state and to self-defence within humanitarian law when faced with an external threatâ€.
The people of Israel have voted to guard those rights. The reaction from the civilised world to Benjamin Netanyahu’s unexpected victory has been reserved, to put it politely. At the time of writing, it is reported that President Obama, the putative leader of the free and democratic world, has still not phoned Mr Netanyahu to offer his congratulations. The President may have favoured a turn to the left with the itular Zionist Union, led by Yitzhak Herzog and Tzipi Livni, who favour the establishment of a state called Palestine. But in the end the people of Israel chose the right path, if not the religious right path. With indisputably the largest proportion of the popular vote, Likud is set to lead the coalition governing Israel for another four years.
We know that Barack Obama wants a Palestinian state based on pre-1967 borders. He isn’t going to get that for as long as Benjamin Netanayhu is Prime Minister, for whom such a proposal is both “unrealistic†and “indefensibleâ€. Why should Israel barter away her security and entertain a border approximating to the perilous 1949 armistice lines? How would that secure peace or enhance security?
Hamas have said there’s no hope in this life or the next for any Jews living in the ‘occupied territories’. When the State of Israel was declared in 1948, hordes of armed Arabs descended to murder her at birth. The UN plan for partition of the land was accepted by Jews but opposed by five Muslim states who decided to invade and rid the land of the descendents of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob. And Egypt would doubtless have invaded again if Israel had not pre-empted their attack in 1967.
While Israel remains surrounded by enemies – having ceded Gaza to Arab control from whence rain thousands of Katyusha rockets – Obama still advocates a ‘peace plan’ which poses an existential threat to the only democracy in the region. There has been no ‘Arab spring’ in Gaza. Where Spring has sprung, there is no sign of a glorious summer of liberty, democracy and religious equality. Syria spawned Hezbollah; Egypt the Muslim Brotherhood; Gaza Hamas; Lebanon a plethora of anti-Israel terrorist groups; and Iran is pledged to wipe Israel “off the mapâ€: the whole of Arabia seems intent on Israel’s destruction. In this context, the Obama ‘peace plan’ is likely to yield genocide on a scale not seen since Auschwitz.
A Zionist is one who believes that the Jews have a legitimate right to a homeland; that Israel is that homeland; and that Jews have a right to live in that country in peace and security. Conservatives are Zionists. Or, rather, true Conservatives are Zionists. As David Cameron reminded us last year in a speech to the Conservative Friends of Israel:
There is something deep in our Party’s DNA that believes in Israel, the right of Israel to exist, the right of Israel to defend itself and that a deal should only happen if it means that Israel is really allowed to have peace within secure borders and real guarantees about its future… The West has to understand that there isn’t an equivalence between a democratically elected Government of Israel, a state of Israel that is a democracy, that’s a member of the United Nations, that has a totally legitimate right to exist and defend itself – there is no equivalence between that and a group like Hamas. When it comes to Hamas we have to be very clear about the Quartet principles, until they recognise the state of Israel, until they put an end to violence and accept previous agreements, they really have to move toward those principles in a big way before they should get any Western money and Western support.
And when asked about the British ‘loons’ and ‘trots’ who seek to boycott Israel and defame her at every turn, he said:
What’s disturbing about it, is it is something that is happening here in the United Kingdom and it’s something that has absolutely no justification because Israel is a democratic country and these Trots as you put it are treating Israel as some sort of pariah state and that is completely wrong. So I have no hesitation in saying yes it may be a bunch of loons but actually what they are doing is profoundly wrong, profoundly damaging and also I think sometimes attacks on Israel can spill over into anti-Semitism, to be frank about it.
The starting point for peace in the Middle East is not the Obama plan: it is not a tit-for-tat Israeli-Arab bartering over land; nor is it dependent on Israeli withdrawal to the arbitrary armistice lines of any previous era. The path to lasting peace is contingent first and foremost upon an unequivocal commitment by the governments of all Arab states that “the Jews have a right to a homeland in Israel and a right to their countryâ€; that Israel has “the same legitimate rights to peace and security as any other stateâ€. When Syria, Lebanon, Iran, Gaza and the Saudi-Salafists of Arabia come to accept that, they must then proceed to eradicate all expressions of Israel-hatred from their cultures and constitutions, and cleanse their lands of the Judeophobes and anti-Semitic extremists conspiring in their midst.
Benjamin Netanyahu understands this. He also understands that it may take some time. He now has another four years to try to secure the peace of Jerusalem, for which we are exhorted to pray (Ps 122:6).

Jordan invaded the west bank and occupied “Palestine”, which was not a state but part of the British mandate inherited from ottoman empire.
